With Neil Blomkamp’s District 9 set to release this August, everyone’s favorite director, producer, and all around geek, Peter Jackson will be making a stop in San Diego for Comic Con International 2009.
This hopefully will be taking place in Hall H, the room capable of supporting over 6,000 ravenous fans.
I’ve attended Comic Con since 1992, and ever since I’ve known of Peter Jackson, I’ve kept my eyes peeled around the convention floor, to see if he’s stocking up on King Kong memorabilia.
At the various Lord of the Rings panel’s he usually had a video clip of himself bemoaning the fact that he was just too busy in New Zealand to actually make the trip to Southern California.
With Comic Con almost completely sold out well ahead of the doors opening, we can certainly expect to be waiting in long lines outside of Hall H to get a glimpse of Jackson and hopefully be able to get a good picture of him from across the hall. I’m sure the Lord of the Rings fans will be lining up to pry answers out of him regarding the Hobbit.
I’m not sure if Guillermo Del Toro has confirmed his Comic Con appearance, but he is one that I have seen consistently at various panels.
I will most certainly be fighting my way into the panel and will be sure to post some pictures and transcripts of the panel.
